What we train, and what you do at home

Peritoneal dialysis uses the lining of your abdomen as a filter. Fluid goes in through a soft catheter, dwells, and drains. APD runs exchanges overnight with a cycler, which is how a lot of people protect their daytime. CAPD is manual exchanges during the day. We teach both.

Home hemodialysis uses a machine at home. The schedule is yours with the care team, often with shorter, more frequent runs than a standard in-center shift.

Sundance does not offer in-center chair dialysis as a product line. Home is the program. If home is not safe or not what you want, we will say so rather than stretch the story.

Training is Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in Hurst. Nurses, a renal dietitian, and a social worker are part of the same small group. Family can sit in. A home visit is part of going home. After that, boxes of supplies come to Cleburne. You still have a clinic team to call.

Plan on heading north through the Fort Worth side of the metro to the Mid-Cities. Precinct Line Road in Hurst is the destination, not a Fort Worth high-rise.
