Machine Free Peritoneal Dialysis (APD)

Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) uses the lining of your belly to clean your blood. You can do it during the day (a few quick exchanges) or at night while you sleep. It takes about half an hour of your time in the morning and another half hour in the evening, at your convenience. Many patients love APD because it is gentle and fits around family time, no machine involved and no need to worry about loss of electricity.

CCPD or Machine Enabled PD

CCPD is the PD where a machine does the dialysis for you. You would set up the machine in the evening and connect it to your catheter, and the machine will do the rest for you while you sleep. We prefer all patients to learn the "manual" APD, but machines give freedom from deciding how much fluid went in and how much came out. 

Home Hemo Dialysis

Home Hemodialysis (HHD) uses a machine to clean your blood just like in-center dialysis, but you do it at home. You can treat 3–6 days a week for shorter times or even overnight. Patients often feel stronger and have more energy with HHD.

Both types let you avoid long drives to a clinic. Our team will help you decide which one is right for you after we talk about your life, health, and goals.

The choice is yours. Our goal is your freedom and your life. Let dialysis work in the background. We encourage patients to keep all options open. One type of dialysis might be a great option for now, but life circumstances change and you might need to choose another type of home dialysis.
